Our knowledgeable guides accompany you every step of the way, ensuring you leave with a deeper understanding and appreciation of the craft. You may even have the chance to meet the initiators of the family farm, Bernadette and Chrysologue who reside on-site.

After decades of working in Kigali and managing the farms operations from the Capital city Kigali, Bernadette and Chrysologue retired and moved to stay at the farm where they continue to contribute to the development of the Estate as well as the Community.

Kinunu Guest House

Originally built as a family home in the early 2000s, Kinunu Guest House has evolved into a cozy retreat for travelers seeking a unique stay in Rwanda. With the region becoming increasingly popular for tourism, the guest house was established in 2009 to accommodate the growing demand for accommodations along the Congo Nile Trail.

Today Kinunu Guest House offers a range of comfortable accommodations, including single and family rooms, two apartments, and two dormitories ideal for large groups or school trips. Experience warm hospitality and breathtaking views of Lake Kivu, all within a serene and tranquil setting.

Umurage Restaurant

In December 2023, Umurage Restaurant opened its doors, providing the perfect complement to the Kinunu Agroprocessing Estate ecosystem. With seating for up to 120 people and majestic views overlooking Lake Kivu, Umurage Restaurant offers a culinary experience like no other.

Guests staying at Kinunu Guest House can indulge in private meals in the spacious dining area, while large groups of tourists visiting for coffee farm tours or trekking adventures can enjoy a delicious meal before continuing their journey. With a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients and Rwandan hospitality, Umurage Restaurant promises a memorable dining experience for all.
